Leopold Brothers Maryland-Style Rye Whiskey

We were lucky to be one of the few who received some of the first barrels of "Leopold Brothers Maryland-Style Rye Whiskey". Made right here in Denver, it pays homage to a style of whiskey that was America's most popular prior to prohibition. This style must be made from 51% rye mash and is spicier and leaner than a bourbon and was the inspiration for many legendary American cocktails, such as the Sazerac and the Manhattan. It is more assertive than the fuller, sweeter bourbon style which allows it to blend more harmoniously in simple (i.e. whiskey cokes) and more complicated cocktails. Leopold seems to have the Midas touch when it comes to distilling and their newest addition is no exception. To put it more bluntly, we think this rye is awesome. Limited supply, get while it lasts! $49.99
