Roots Riesling - Cherry Grove Vineyard, Willamette Valley, Oregon
Born in Racine, Wisc., and raised in Idaho, Pennsylvania and Illinois, winemaker and winegrower Chris Berg didn't always know he wanted to make wine. But make wine he did and Roots was born!
This is not your grandmother's Riesling! This very small production single vineyard Riesling delivers a nose full of citrus fruit with just a slight hint of petrol. The wine is off-dry with only the slightest trace of residual sugar. If you don't care for sweet-style Riesling, this is the wine for you. Crisp and refreshing, this Riesling would pair perfectly with sushi, Chinese food, spicy Thai, cod, trout, and just about anything served with a fruit-based sauce. $19.99
Brandborg Pinot Noir
The grapes sourced for this small-production Pinot Noir are all sourced from vineyards close to the Umpqua River in Oregon. The aromas and bouquet offer bright and vibrant strawberry fruit, mushrooms, earth, and sweet oak. The mouthfeel is round and full. The wine is aged in 100% French oak barrels, 33% of which are new. This allows for lees stirring and the building of structure and mouthfeel. This is a great value Pinot Noir at $18.99!
